Board Work Session – July 14, 2010

CALL TO ORDER

The work session was called to order by the President Rick Wetzel at 12:00 p.m. with the following members present: Bill Blackburn, Rob Hunt, Amy Nieman, and Mr. Wetzel.  Also in attendance was Superintendent Jed Bowman.

MOTION Hunt, second Nieman, to approve the agenda. MOTION CARRIED; Voting Aye – Blackburn, Hunt, Nieman, Wetzel.

REVIEW 2010-2011 BOARD GOALS

The board reviewed and discussed the 2010-2011 goals with Superintendent Bowman.  The goals will be approved at the August Regular Board of Education meeting.

BOARD MEMBERS’ PERCEPTION OF ENDS POLICIES

Due to time constraints this item will be reviewed and discussed at the August Board Work Session.

ESTABLISH NORMS FOR COMMUNICATION

The board and Superintendent Bowman established norms for communicating.

MILL LEVY?

The board and Superintendent Bowman had a brief discussion about asking our public for a Mill Levy Override.  It was decided this is not in the best interest for the district and our community at this time.

OTHER

Superintendent Bowman shared his presentation Outcomes That Matter for All with the Board of Education that he presented to the District Leadership Team in June.
