Columbine Elementary Happenings PDF Print E-mail
Columbine kicked off “I Love to Read Month”, January 29th, with a grand assembly centered around the 2010 Winter Olympics. Athletes (teachers in disguise) were interviewed and specifically asked how they found time to read.  The answers were most interesting and provided much laughter for the audience. colfeb.jpg

For “I love to Read Month” students are keeping reading logs and trying to ‘unplug’ from TV and video games. Classes are decorating their doors  as the cover of their favorite books. Students will “Drop Everything and Read” daily. Community readers will come in and read to students. Volunteers may contact the school if interested in reading to a group,

During a two hour Read-A-Thon, students and staff will dress as their favorite book character. Darth Vader may make an appearance, bringing the force to Columbine readers!!!
